Sanctum Poem by Jason Jackson

Sanctum

Love, lust & a discounted hotel rate,
red diesel in the engine of desire,
a hole appeared in your best string vest,
an unopened oyster in the breakfast of champions.

Fasten your seatbelt & extinguish all flames,
the road ahead is rugged & rocky,
take a moment to free your inner adolescent,
remember when you were too clever and cocky.

Experience brings with it a story oft told,
and wisdom has it's own cross to bear,
take me to your inner most sanctum
and I will meet you there
