Sands Of Time Poem by Wendy Bureau

Sands Of Time

Rating: 3.5

I catch myself drifting
As my thoughts tenderly unfold
Carrying me off on a fantasy
Your warmth protects me from the cold

It's then my eyes discover
Your beauty, your masculine form
We slowly come together
In an embrace, so loving and warm

You whisper something I cannot hear
Although your breath excites me so
The words of a friend replay, seeking love?
It could be so much closer than you know

I look deep into your eyes
And recognize that it is you
The man whom I see every night
Could this be love, could this be true?

You whisk me up into your arms
Upon my lips, a gentle kiss
The sands of time completely still
A moment captured, a lovers bliss

As quickly as it all began
These thoughts slowly disappear
My love suspended in the sands of time
For you my love, my dear
