Satiations Poem by Lonnie Hicks

Satiations

Rating: 2.8

I flail
beyond satiation-
hands pressed against the margins-
excess my guide
availing.

Outer verges, boundaries
and limitlessness
draw from me
every arrow
in my quiver.

I've abandoned everything for you.

All my givens have burst
my hands reach-
my limits tested
my rainbow's always here
before the rain.

I am dead on for you
urgently
in love’s instant transformation.

You are my lover standing-
vision on the rosy tipped
horizon,

each time I take this wanton risk,
for lust drives
this hungriness,
which sees just beyond
the margins line
where you lover
lift my dawns
in odd hours
beckoning me

to cross that bridge each time;
taking excessive,
excessive steps;

risk and excitement;
fortune gained
and lost.

Into that breech I go.
Each time
looking for more.

Fool and foolish;
adventurous
or pusher back
of the frontier;
am I
all these?
Yes, I am.

Sweep this
star dust
into my eyes
and I go blind
willingly.
People say
do you know
and I say yes I do
but this is soul driven
and I am but the passenger
in this auto-driven
passion trip.
I am in love
with it.
