Satisfied Poem by John Leroy Maxwell

Satisfied

Emerging from my dream, awakened only by the
frightful thoughts that consumed me, in my slumber
I rushed to the sides of my loved ones, as they
lay peaceful in their own repose
Standing there with protective layers of love and
hope for their continued lives, of all that is
good and beautiful
Filtering rays of the moon seeping through the
slats on the window, casting melodic hues of
angelic grace, on their loving faces
Sensing all is well at this moment in their lives,
I return to my own room, self satisfied
Not wishing to disconcert the dreams that envelop
within them
