Save Me From The Sword

I didn’t ask for life on earth
Nor will I sing it’s praise
Yet Lord I pray for second birth
Before You end my days

If now in Christ You let me live
If in this life I’m blessed
I’ll take each day the cross You give
And try to do my best

For this in truth I understand
By grace I now can see
So take this life that’s in Your hand
In Jesus’ name set free

For still in part I’m Satan bound
Again I’ve done You wrong
But still I seek the higher ground
That I may sing life’s song

I see Your Son as First & Last
I see Him Christ & Lord
I so regret my evil past
Please save me from the sword

I know I’ve walked through life as blind
No depths I wouldn’t go
I’ve changed my ways I’ve changed my mind
I’ve changed because I know

I know what’s wrong I know what’s right
The truth is clear in view
If You my God give me Your Light
I’ll stay You ever true

So hear this song of truth I sing
Please hear Your servant speak
Accept this humble heart I bring
It’s life in Christ I seek
