Savior Poem by Alejandro Torres

Savior

Drown in Heavenly tears
Drink down Hell fire
To be consumed
With something that isn’t there
Child, where did your heart go
Savior, where did you place your love
Am I so out of reach
Of greatness
That my words depress you so
Or do you think the reverse
Of what everyone knows is true
Do you think of the how could you
How could I
Simple as the universe I breathe in
There was no choice
No second thought
Loving you is second nature
To the defender I am
The fighter
The poetic warrior
Wielding words and a heart
For everything I hold true
Everything for you
But you hesitate
Squander time and fate
On ventures not worthy
Experiences worth nothing
In time everything you need
I could give
I could grant
If only I had the chance
Wish upon streetlight stars
For the opportunity
To play you a deadly concert
Of life, love, and sin
Here to win
Affection from you
From the unaffected
For the foolhardy jester-lady
Rapidly falling
Out and in
Of love
With her audience
With you
