Says Who? Poem by Glen Martin Fitch

Says Who?

Rating: 2.0

You ever notice
when folks ask 'How do? '
you start
and they can't wait
until you're done?
Before you've stopped
it's their tale they've begun.
They want to talk.
Who's listening to you?
So why?
Why bother doing this?
Why now?
Perhaps you seek to learn
Some truth of life or love,
to solve a mystery,
to conquer strife,
to make you snort or tear,
say 'Yes! ' or 'Wow! '
I thank you.
Thanks for your attention,
time, concern.
But if you hear a thought
that seems to be your own,
like fate fulfilled,
like well worked rhyme
then I feel satisfied.
If you would rob my words
as yours
then I have done my job.
