Scarlet Poem by Avrum Rashkae

Scarlet

As I watched from the tower above
Of the battle raging below me
A scout came through the door
His breath like blade on stone
He told a tale of sadness
Of how the Queen was dead
I staggered back in amazement, I could not accept the fact
That my patron of the Eastern sea`s
Had finally met her match
I collapsed on the wooden floor
My breath in shallow waves

My consciousness betrayed me
Leaving a void behind
As it left my tattered body
In search of a better host
