Scars Of The Past Poem by Josh Burnett

Scars Of The Past

Tell me how love is really suppose to mean
Tell me how love is really suppose to be
Because it seems I can't escape to be free
I'm burden down by the heavy chains
The silence of the moments make me wanna scream.

I can't escape the scars of the past
I should have known it wouldn't last
The shadows of doubt have been cast
Help me escape the scars of the past.

The tears stream down my face with my head down
I'm scared to open my eyes and look around
I'm afraid that I won't see you right here
Love's intentions are so unclear
But you are the only one that I want near.

I can't escape the scars of the past
I should have known it wouldn't last
The shadows of doubt have been cast
Help me escape the scars of the past.

What is it really suppose to mean?
Are we reallys suppose to be?
I know that I want you with me
But the scars of the past won't let me free.

I can't escape the scars fo the past
I should have known it wouldn't last
The shadows of doubt have been cast
Help me escape the scars of the past.
