Scattered Shadows And Scared Self Poem by Nalini Jyotsana Chaturvedi

Scattered Shadows And Scared Self

Rating: 3.5

That distorted face,
In the mirror
Does tell me
I am still a winner

The shattered shadows
On the ground
So many of you
Scattered around

Craters created
In my heart
Walls will have to crumble
To fill the painful scars

I know the mirrors
Are helplessly cracked
No wonder in them
I look so bereft

Shadows will coalesce
I will become one
Before you know
Sadness will come
Undone

But these massive craters
Will remain precious scars
My victory medals
Will win place in the stars
