Why I am being pushed to school?
For refining self and not looking fool,
To stay away from home and look cool,
Or to learn the system how to pass stool,

May be all they are right,
So I don’t stay home and fight,
Always disappear from their sight,
Break precious things as sign of might,

Mom always tense and furious,
Still keen to know and more curious,
Never look so hard and vicious,
Always aware and more conscious,

I struggle hard to know myth,
Why I am pushed to keep clean teeth,
Mom looks kind but always dictates,
Funny stories and incidences narrate,

In school I find another character,
Gorgeous and good looking teacher,
Kind but Stick in hand and terror feature,
After all I am told he will shape the future,

But difficult to learn why I stay so wild?
Entry in school makes me mild,
Enough big rooms and run in field,
Make me feel necessacity to build,

First lesson in school to lead life double,
More to learn and make me able,
Why I am so naughty in home and notorious?
School calms me down and feels so curious,

Whatever be the reason sounds so well,
Never have I thought it is another hell?
So much to see and so much to tell,
Try to raise more and suddenly fell,

Mom always says I am beacon and future,
Offers her sweets and sincerely nurture,
Love and harsh but symbol of mixture,
All lovely words of advice to make me mature,

Leading a life with distinction dubious,
Reason not known but seems so obvious,
They may have the experience previous,
May be world wants not to make me pious,

Make me feel at home but not at home,
Run aimlessly and in streets I roam,
Funny with the friends and always demand,
Things come ready and no one remand,

I learnt to live with ease and calm,
Teacher may say rise but not as palm,
Be as tree heavy and laden,
Stature high with approach Bolden

Poem of the Day

poet Charles Stuart Calverley

He stood, a worn-out City clerk —
Who'd toil'd, and seen no holiday,
For forty years from dawn to dark —
Alone beside Caermarthen Bay.
