School Blues

Life was an ease,
life was a breeze,
time swooped by each day,
moans and whines,
of wanting more time,
to stay outside and play.

Friends were siblings,
unless there were none,
even so,
playing alone was fun!

Innocence was overpowering,
Intelligence was few,
until that cowering,
first day of school.

Whails, tearfull outbursts,
clamping your mothers arm tight,
A que of kids condcucting the same,
But that didn't make you alright

Each morning was a struggle,
to wake from your sleep,
your mother enters to wake you up,
once again you weap.

Forced through the door,
Your mother rushes away,
You feel abandoned, confused,
stuck in school for another day...
