School Days Poem by Marilyn Lott

School Days

Do you ever go way back in time
Back when you were in school?
Your memories are in black and white
The annuals are an amazing tool

Oh look, there are the cooks we had
It’s just like it was yesterday
Standing in the kitchen
They were there every single day

Teachers in group pictures too
Wonder if they’re still around?
I remember sitting in class
Not supposed to make a single sound

Pictures of children I played with
Faded now from the years
Memories just like yesterday
Brings smiles and a few tears

But it’s fun, don’t you think?
Lunch rooms, dances and plays
Bringing out the old annuals
Refresh memories of school days!
