Scrapbook Poem by Matthew Edan Oliver Palma

Scrapbook

Rating: 4.5

Somewhere in the scrapbook
Lies a picture of you and me
A glimpse of how we used to be
Some old memory that’ 's left in me

Somewhere in the scrapbook
Lies the rose you gave to me
All its petals have gone dry
Since the day you made me cry

Somewhere in the scrapbook
Lays the laughter of our souls
It echoes through the empty halls
Of this heart that for you calls

Somewhere in the scrapbook
There’ s the poem you wrote for me
And that photograph you tore in half
And now all that’ 's left was me

Somewhere in the scrapbook
Lay the promises we made
But I’ 'll close this book with one last look
And let these memories fade

Somewhere in the scrapbook
Was a love I sought to find
And with one last look I close the book
Of a past I leave behind

Very Nice! The poem was a little sad to me. I love the rhyming. I like how it was about memory and love. That the scrapbook hold both of that and I like how it was used.
