Rachel Brewer (28/01/1991 / Maidstone)
Scream
Walking through the car park,
It’s very late at night.
I look all around,
Checking,
Making sure I’m safe.
I’m not though,
Am I?
You’re here somewhere,
I know you are.
You wouldn’t pass up the opportunity.
To kill me.
That’s right,
I know what your doing.
I just don’t know why.
Tell me.
I see your shadow everywhere,
Creeping,
Through the shadows,
Through the dark,
Scaring me.
I begin to run,
To get to my car,
Suddenly I forget where I’ve parked.
I keep running though,
To get away.
I know I can’t,
I shouldn’t even try.
You will find me again,
That I am sure.
I don’t want to die.
You know I don’t,
I’ve told you before.
Please,
Don’t.
I really don’t want to go yet.
I reach my car,
Jam in the key.
Twist it open,
Get inside,
Start the engine.
Then the shock completely takes me over,
I see the figure in the back seat.
You smile at me with your shiny fangs,
And I know it’s over now.
But I’ll try not to scream.
