Scribblings Poem by Beth Behrens

Scribblings

More than a sentence,
Less than a story:
A child’s hug,
A stranger’s glance,
A wordless squeeze of my hand,
Whispered endearments
In the belly of night
More than a stanza,
Less than a song
These scribblings
In the margins of my life.
