Seagulls Over Rome... Poem by Kiba Black

Seagulls Over Rome...

Question:
Would you
mind to die young?

Break your bones
and be pierced
by the gargoyles
of Notre Dame de Paris?

Or tread
into nothingness
from Castel Sant'angelo
same place where
Saint Michael
brandish his sword?

Or maybe
you prefer much
to enter
Rodin's
Gates of Hell?

Look carefully -
simple grass grows
through thick
medieval rocks
and darkness
appears at noontime...

I really like the allusions to art and history and the simple phrasing at the end. Wonderful imagery in the last paragraph. Reminds me of the last section of T.S. Eliot's The Waste Land. Great job!
