Second Glance Poem by Tyler Cooley

Second Glance

Rating: 5.0

Searching for a better reason
Why she's coming as you're leaving
With a hollow heart you're watching
As all care goes with the seasons
Was It You? Was it something that you said?
Or every time she looked your way
You looked away instead?

You can try your all to fight it
Deny your consequential fall
Deep inside you found the feelings
Bound and gagged behind your wall
But it's too late, far too late for all of that
Now you'll spend your hours wishing
For the one that you once had

Nobody ever sees the gift
They're given till it's gone
They'll always overlook the best
And focus on the wrongs
It's not so bad, We'll all make that mistake
Next time you'll take a second glance
When you go to look away
