Secret Garden Poem by Melpomene's Tears

Secret Garden

Rating: 5.0

On the lush green carpet we lay
looking up towards the star filled sky
and in our secret garden we slept
while you held my hand
and I held yours.

Thick walls born of bricks
blanketed by waterfalls of ivy
walls that kept us a secret
while mind and heart were free.

In that crystal pond we swam
chasing and catching
as carefree as we could be
you placed a rose in my hair
in turn I gave you my heart to care.

In our secret garden
we were complete
but away you went
and left me in defeat.

This is a great oem, speaking to the imagination of the reader. A pleasure to read. Coincidently I finished just reading the book with the same title by FH Burnett. Also a fantastic book
