Secrets Poem by Mary Roach

Secrets

Secrets… little secrets
Being whispered all around
Rumors… little rumors
Thought you didn’t hear a sound

The talk but its obvious
What they're trying to do
Secrets… dumb secrets
They’re trying to get to you

They’re dumb rumors and they’re lies
Not even close to being real
Still they inflict pain and scars
They get better but never heal

Rumors… little rumors
They talk but they don't see
They don't seem to understand
That the jealous one isn’t me

When they are talking about jealousy
Well you can count me out
Because they're the one who’s jealous
Jealous of who they’re talking about
