See Me As I Am Poem by Rachel L. Z.

See Me As I Am

Just as I remember, you're smiling over there
I don't even know if you can see me over here
It's been way to long since I've seen your shining eyes
Please don't make me shed one more tear

I beg you to see me, as I am
I beg you to know me, as I am
I don't know what your memories hold,
But I'm not that girl anymore, and
I beg you to see me, as I am

Back them I was foolish, so lost and insecure
I didn't know who I wanted to be
I had to realize that the only way things felt right
Was when I was the person I was when you were near me

I beg you to see me, as I am
I beg you to know me, as I am
I don't know what your memories hold,
But I'm not that girl anymore, and
I beg you to see me, as I am.
