Self Assertiveness Through Self Development Poem by Kay Moore

Self Assertiveness Through Self Development

Rating: 5.0

I had a problem the other day,
To be assertive, was not my way.
So off to tech, myself I took,
To solve this problem, from a book.
I paid my fees, and found the class,
With lots of luck, I might just pass.
All seated round, with eyes intent,
I think the moneys' been well spent.
The teacher quoted from this and that,
We all assusmed, it was pure fact.
The verbal games that people play,
Is our homework, for the day.
Communications, is the price,
Not a game, like roll of dice.
They, love to talk, so pay attention,
Listening is a new dimention.
Imagine life, without a sound,
Body language, would abound.
But even so, we are abused,
By those who flog us, with their views,
They overtalk, intimidate,
Put you down, and just deflate.
Waffle on and waste your time,
And have the hide to be, sublime.
Until now, so.....
From this position, backward step,
Then four times, just reflect,
Hold your stance, just don't budge,
Even if they have a grudge.
Now practice this, day by day,
And self respect, will come your way.
The more you try, the better you'll get,
So well taught, by sweet Zabette.
