Semper Fi
It's been almost a year
since your fire burned down
to lifeless embers.
Time has gone quickly,
yet somehow I feel
like it's hard to remember
How I felt at first,
how I coped during
the bitter December.
Sometimes,
when the wind blows
you're by my side,
And when the waves in the
lake swell in and out
with the pulling tide
I remember you,
Semper fi,
Semper fi.
