Sentry Poem by John Ngirachu

Sentry

If you think it a spurt,
blood from broken parts,
think again, sweetheart.
How happiness is a dream
a faraway gleam.
How reeling blows, break no bones
like blunt knives cutting.
But till canvas calls,
till your head rolls,
I'll stand still
sentry to your end.
