Serenity Poem by Bob Blackwell

Serenity

Rating: 5.0

Sit,
relax be still,
Shush, hush
now, quiet mind,
no hopes, worries,
past suspicions,
or expectations.

Take time,
taste the essence,
smell the fragrance,
feel the air,
see the beauty,
hear the sounds,
both near and far.

Do not hold,
do not grasp,
you must not attach.
Just rest in the peace
that is yourself,
let the magic rise.

Now the
intelligence
in silence,
gives birth to,
fresh ideas, works of art,
and a life full of a
serenity that lasts.

As a young engineer at sea, i would come off watch at midnight and just stand on deck, my mind completely free, looking at the universe i seemed to blot out the sound of the engines, i loved that hour. thanks for taking me back Bob

Every one needs the peace in mind sir.. With out this peace, this serenity, or tranquility.. One can easily get fed up with the hectic pace in life.... writing poems is a good way to keep our composure too.... good.. shan

As a hyperactive child my teacher drummed this into me but I could not hush nor be still - In today's world we need to calm our inner self then use the silence to gain serenity. Owe it to ourselves, will take heed, thank you Bob
