Serositis From Love

there is a difference between you....us and me....
less obvious to the naked eye but naked just the same
we both bought into a life full of twelve pack specials
sugar free colas with cherry or vanilla flavoring
mixed with rum over iced futures
and guzzled by the tumbler full for medicinal purposes only.....
both of us desire our sugar cane dreams
yours spent in a controlled burn
you risk neither life or limb to achieve intoxication
me...I throw all caution to the wind
as my liver leaves rehab.........
and my brain cells die in the name of love......
watching you move on from us to him.......
