Set Me Free Poem by Praveen Wilson

Set Me Free

In the shadows of the darkest nights,
a world of secrets, of desperate plights,
None remain by my side.

Past weighs heavy, a burden of memories,
of false pretenses and vile intentions.
Realities were nothing but damned illusions!

Truth never sought for want of lies.
Ignorance feigned, suppressed all sighs.
Anguish cloaked, practiced forged smiles.

Chains restraining, have cast deep scars.
Shallow breaths fail to revive,
Lost all strength, grasped on the will to survive.

I pray to thee to set me free, banish all fears and let me be,
for a perilous path, a journey awaits.
Promise of a new dawn, new hope, remains.
