Seven Squared Poem by Danny Banks

Seven Squared

A notice in the inbox
Rings in a fresh new year
A world grown ever smaller
A bridge across the years

Cowgirl strap your boots on
Come and take my hand
Let's explore together
This path of shifting sand

Virtual companions
To lead us to ourselves
A breeze out of the doldrums
Of what we'd kept upon a shelf

The book now been reopened
It couldn't be set down
There was story to be written
Adventures to be found

Of love yet unrequited
Through loneliness and strife
But also joy and happiness
Hey, babe, how 'bout a life?

Best friend, boy and girlfriend
Soulmate, twin forever
Road pup, lover, counselor
A bond no one can sever

Then meeting in reality
Across the great divide
Hearts beat in sync, a carnal link
And souls meet through the eyes

Continuing on, the road seems long
And life gets in the way
But focused eyes upon our prize
Has brought us to today

And so the tale continues
With story yet unwritten
And ports of call still unexplored
This traveler remains smitten

By magnetic beauty
Drawing him to his twin
An aura that surrounds her
That radiates from within

A soothing sweetness from her voice
He longs to wake to someday
Her smiling face and warm embrace
Holding him in sway

Love, I pray to walk with you
On adventures yet unshared
But for today I wish for you
A happy seven squared
