Shadow Of Christmas Poem by Sylvia Chidi

Shadow Of Christmas

Rating: 4.5

Christmas is now gone
With all the usual fun
I see only its shadow
Yes! That’s how the story goes

A few more days, then New Year
Visit the church and confess
Then bring out your fancy dress
Its time to make a mess

For some, its time for new resolutions
For others, its time for new beginnings
Or perhaps nothing changes
Even in the face of new challenges

Now Christmas has come and gone
Yet right there in the corner
I see the shadow of Christmas
Lurking in the darkness
Yes! That’s how the story goes

Nice poem. Yes, Christmas tends to linger in the mind like a beautiful old song. But, if God wills, we will sing it again next December. Happy New Year to you. Regards, Sandra Fowler
