Shadow Talk Poem by Dale Barnes

Shadow Talk

I Met my Shadow Yesterday…Maybe but a Dream…

We Reminisced… Out Loud… In Total Silence.

Ambiguous of Light…or the Lack There of…

It was a Grey Day…As the Summer Days Dying.

‘I sleep with the Sun, and make love to the Moon’

‘I Weep in the Rain and Dream to the Afternoon’

‘I follow you when others have You…Abandoned ’

‘I am Always there to Carry you…Into the Night’

‘I am Always there…With you… In the Light’

‘I only wonder why you have chosen your Paths’

‘I’ve Been with you, where you have Been, Come and Gone’

‘I can’t Help to Wonder why…So many… Dark Roads’

‘I only follow your Decisions. My Tears...Invisible’

‘I only wish to Guide you once…from Destruction’

“My most humble and faithful Companion in Life”

“Those paths you followed me were once Sincere”

“I trod them in Innocence and in Awe, Seeking Light”

“My goals where Virtuous…Some Wrong, Some Right”

“Our only enemy…Is Time, and when we Disappear”

“I Long for the days when I would see you behind me”

“Pushing me through Mountain Meadows and..Highlands..”

“Down Roads Less Traveled We Danced and Reveled”

“We will always be one, Again in the Sun, My Son”

“When We Dance again, in Days Begotten”
