Shadows Dream Poem by Ashley Wade

Shadows Dream

As I lay tossing and turning,
As the world around me lies in death and burning,
A war is waging but none can see,
The war that's waging is between shadows and me..

Big ones, small ones, shadows of all kinds,
Creep into my bedroom to take me by surprise.
But I can feel the mist they bring,
I feel the mists cold sharp sting....

Faces appear of people I know,
They wrap their fingers around my throat,
While I'm praying that this is just a dream,
A hand covers my mouth so I can't scream.

My eyes are glued shut,
I cannot breathe.
Why are the shadowa doing this to me?
But then i wake up....

This is all just a shadows dream......
