Shadows In The Frame Poem by Juan Olivarez

Shadows In The Frame

It's just an old photograph upon the wall,
Six friends of long ago.
Six special friends, young, strong, and tall,
Six special friends starting to grow.

A fading photograph changing through the years,
Ghostly shadows play in the frame.
Looking at it brings him to tears,
Somehow the photograph is not the same.

Sam is gone, so many years in the past,
Now Eddie has gone away.
Day by day, time flies so fast,
And inside the frame, the shadows play.

Only four in the photograph now remain,
No time has not been kind.
Life can be harsh loaded with pain,
Sometimes you feel you've lost your mind.

The shadows play inside the frame,
Foretelling what the future brings.
Perhaps a hint, or another name,
The shadows in the frame, tell many things.
