Shaky-Rabbit Blues - Poem by Samuel Hardman

I have told you daddy
That I'm nobody's fool;
You been seen with Ruby Jean;
She ain't no good for you.

I'm going to get the ice pick
And stck you through-and-through;
And when I finish daddy,
You'll have the Shaky-Rabbit blues.

Bassie for the kitchen,
Rabbit for the door,
But before he made it
They were rolling in the floor.

Shaky, Shaky-Rabbit,
See what yo'r mama will do;
When she has done you daddy,
You'll have the Shaky-Rabbit blues.

Now see that Shaky-Rabbit,
Bassie's loving man,
Trying to eat his biscuit
With his ever shaking hands.

Shaky, Shaky-Rabbit,
See what yo'r mama will do;
And when she had done you daddy,
You'll have the Shaky-Rabbit blues.

Rabbit crossed his baby
And see what she has done!
It's a sight to see him dancing
In the Delta sun.

Shaky, Shaky-Rabbit,
See what yo'r mama will do;
And when she has done you daddy,
You'll have the Shaky-Rabbit blues.
