.she. Poem by audra king

.she.

She - with the most perfect, porcelain skin I've ever seen
She - with her hair jet black and her eyes jade green.
She - with the mouth of a pouting child.
She - with her imagination crazy and wild.
She - with a stare that makes men go mad.
She - with a life beyond what I've ever had.
She - with her sterling, platinum-white smile.
She - with her flashing it at me all the while.
She - with perfection, has mastered the art.
She - with willpower, she has your heart.

And I - with freckles covering every inch of my skin.
And I - with my eyes that won't let you contact them.
And I - with my mouth too small for your lips.
And I - with my ways of thinking too dense.
And I - with a gaze that scurries off when you look.
And I - with a life too dull for the books.
And I - with a smile indirect and shy.
And I - with my eyes glued to her as she passes by.
And I - with the knowledge that she obtains what she wants.
And I - with my quiet, I sit here and watch.
