She Holds In Her Soul Poem by Clare Grover

She Holds In Her Soul

He brushes her hair away from her eyes
He kisses her face as she dreams
And sighs

He studies her face as she murmurs
And smiles
He loves this fair lady
He curses the miles

The distance between them seems further each day
She wants never to leave him
He needs her to stay

The howl of the black dog resounds in his soul
She so wants to help him
But she cannot console

He feels like life is destined to fail
She tries to implore him...convince him to sail...
To sail with her heart...to trust her resolve
But she knows his head rules
Won't let his heart get involved

She prays for a compromise, for a brand new life
But his darkness within him affords sadness and strife

The future will happen, each day will evolve
Patience and calmness may help to resolve
the fears and uncertainty that lay under the rim

She holds in her soul every fibre of him.
