She Is Poem by Michele Long

She Is

Rating: 5.0

She is quiet but loud at times
She always read between the lines
She feels like no other can or will
Yet remains here and will so still
She thinks too much
She acknowledges the touch
She feels such restriction in her life
She still is still the perfect mother and wife
She feels and knows despair
She cries when no-one is there
She takes no time to stand and stare
This is her when and where
She is so lonely and lost inside
She always runs to eventually hide
She escapes her thoughts and dreams
She accepts it is as it seems
She wants sometimes to just disappear
She know things are not this clear
She forgets about wishing and the need
She decided this is selfish greed
She has to accept and as things go
She knows she shouldn’t feel so low
She must make choices she must decide
To narrow her path it isn’t that wide
She carries on with a big fake smile
She feels herself breaking all the while
She is the master of her destiny, this is her chosen right
She has thrown down the gauntlet let go of the fight
She has no right to feel as she does
She just misses the person that she once was
She lets go of a little more each day
She expected more but this is her way
She will live and breathe and eventually tire
Her light will go out and so will her fire.
