She’s Always Been Good To Me Poem by Will Fiala

She’s Always Been Good To Me

She wakes up the mornin’ and lights up a smoke
And wiping the sleep from her eyes
She kisses me softly and whispers her love
And I’m not at all surprised

She’s always been good to me
Loving and tender and endless and free
She knows who I am and she helps me to see
She’s always been good to me

When I’ve been troubled I know she’ll be there
Giving me strength through her heart
Brooding about always gets me nowhere
I can’t solve a thing ‘til I start

She’s always been good to me
Loving and tender and endless and free
She knows who I am and she helps me to see
She’s always been good to me

I use to face life with a frown
Little good happened to me
Acting a fool like a clown
Then she appeared, can you see

She’s always been good to me
Loving and tender and endless and free
She knows who I am and she helps me to see
She’s always been good to me

I use to face life with a frown
Little good happened to me
Acting a fool like a clown
Then she appeared, can you see

Our love’s like the water
It flows like the tide
I’ve searched for her all of my life
And only my love
Makes it peaceful inside
I’ll hold her all through the night

She’s always been good to me
Loving and tender and endless and free
She knows who I am and she helps me to see
She’s always been good to me

She’s always been good to me
Loving and tender and endless and free
She knows who I am and she helps me to see
She’s always been good to me

She’s always been good to me
She’s always been good to me
