She's Slow But Sure

Why is the growth of Christians slow?
Why is the bride seen frail?
Why when she fights her deadly foe?
So many land in jail

Throughout the globe she’s televised
Throughout the world she’s seen
Squabbling moaning and scandalised
Unlike a righteous queen

Not to offend, preaches tell lies
Speaking in Jesus’ name
While docile sheep still die like flies
Wallowing lost in shame

Though God said this and still says that
While those of Christ agree
The tares today grow sleek and fat
Amidst the flock born free

Through foolishness we lose respect
Through selfishness our place
Now some believe we’re one more sect
With egg upon our face

Another trend another cult
Another dream gone stale
Still they’re blind to The True result
The Christ can never fail

So praise The Lord a few still rise
Amidst our current strife
Striving to open children’s eyes
Loving them into life

The world may think it can’t be done
The church will fail and die
United though through Christ God’s Son
We’ll grow and rise on high
