She Yelled At Me Poem by Vera Sidhwa

She Yelled At Me

She Yelled At Me

I asked her why she yelled at me.
So she told me her sad and bad story.
She said she had been struck by her husband bad.
Her story was not only tragic but horrendously sad.

She said she tried to strike him back.
She said his strength was the strength she had.
She cried all day and all night.
This world wasn't good and not right.

He friends wouldn't believe her
Where she came from
So her husband beat her more bad.
Her heart cracked into pieces.
This world was evil and sad.

The counselors taught her how to leave him
But she did not for years.
Oh and all the tears.
But she left him at last.
