Sheba

She came
across the desert
my tempest
for three years
she traveled across the earth
on camel back
on foot
shifting sand and
shadows
her face veiled
her want of wisdom
her love
of what puzzles
and i am riddled still but how
could we deny temptation
or passion
what would become
of her kingdom
or mine?

Poem of the Day

poet Christina Georgina Rossetti

Where sunless rivers weep
Their waves into the deep,
She sleeps a charmed sleep:
Awake her not.
Led by a single star,
