Shell Poem by Half Past

Shell

Broken yokes and egg whites
cracked open and oozing forth
the sip sizzle and searing
as they plummet into pan
stirred with the remnants of the last dish
immersed and melding in milk and butter
imperceptably the last drops drip away
left with just the shell in hand
the insides empty
and just for a moment
remorse at the loss
then slowly the husk is thrown aside
a new creation is born
one thing broke
and another created
something to feed and fill
from hole
came whole
