Shimmer Poem by Harlequin Rose

Shimmer

The letter is to be read by candle light
so as to appropriately set the scene
a touch of opulence
and decadence on a grand scale
the night burns with the romantic
her eyes, lit by the flame
absorb the richness of his words
and the pleasing sensation
of the parchment against her fingertips
she can still taste his lips
brooding with lingering sweetness
she's never known a passion
so searing and unrelenting as this
never so burning a kiss
and she soon becomes aware
that she knows nothing of magic
that escapes the woes of love
but every time his secret is meant to unlock such doors...
it does.
