Shine Your Light Poem by The Poet Darkling

Shine Your Light

There's not enough darkness in all the world
To extinguish the light of your candle
A thousand others couldn't take your place
Nor could a thousand feet fill your sandal

I can't think of one person that I know
To fill the void in my heart if you left
And without the blessing of your friendship
My life would be empty, my soul bereft

So shine your light in my darkest places
Give me the privilege to bask in its ray
Allow me to drink from your cup of joy
Take my hand in yours and show me the way

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Inspired by Robert Alden's quote, 'There's not enough darkness in all the world to put out the light of one small candle.', I give you this poem on friendship. Enjoy!
