Shiny Swing Set Poem by Katy Lue

Shiny Swing Set

Mirrors of our laughing faces,
Collections of the love,
Connect the eyes of thinking back
And seep through all the above,
The now rusty sharp swing set
Is preserved to marvel in it’s day
Watches the photographer stare through the glass
And the decor of the elaborate frame,
The water’s white caps shrieking,
The audience’s back is turned
It’s posed and happy,
A snap shot’s twin,
That sits in memories blurred,
No frowns or weeping seconds
Are found in the lens collage,
Just shiny swing sets,
Rambunctious waves,
And the mask of ones mirage
