Ship Sails (Shipwreck) Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Ship Sails (Shipwreck)

October 28,1928
I decided to write to you once more with no plan for a reply
I can still feel your warmth as if we've just met the day before
It's been years since I've seen you smile
When I dream im still comforted as its the only place it can be found
I remember the ducks that use to sit by the pond
They seemed to quack your name
A waddle between the quacks
They seemed to walk countless numbers of miles to feel the warmth of your hand across the sides of their cheeks
The days never forgotten as I watched myself fall deeper into your splendor
We'd spend our time under the weeping willows as they covered most of the clovers and dandelions soon to be blown into the wind
Snowflakes sprinkled from the heavens above
To paint the otherwise perfect picture shared
Between you and I
O those days I can still taste
As my hunger is left unfulfilled
Drenched in the infactuation of infactuation it'self
Tasted by the splendor of heaven it'self
As I wish for nothing but the happiness
Of your smile
It's hard to see that now as times grown old
My face has grown with time
And my hands have withered from the reality of being without you
I hope this reaches you in perfect health as my eyes can no longer see
Somehow I hope this bottled letter reaches you soon
