Shivering Shared Memory Friend Poem by JoAnn McGrath

Shivering Shared Memory Friend

Rating: 5.0

If I could extend my hand
out to another man
It would be my new friend Mark
His inspiring poetry gives me new spark

I study the words he pens
And he makes me think beyond my ends
There is even a greater connection here
We share an identical memory that's dear

He wrote about it the other day
I read it with such dismay
My exact memory from my youth
It's the honest to goodness thruth

Sent a shiver right up my spine
And made my whole face shine
I've been given another new friend
To carry me through until the end

Sorry Mark it took me so long
To write you a poem...I was wrong
I was all caught up in me
And didn't see the beauty in thee.
