Short Measure - Tree's Virtue Poem by Leslie Alexis

Short Measure - Tree's Virtue

Trees also need to breathe,
Though theirs is stomatic,
In those green bustling little leaves
The life is dynamic –

Life’s currents flow through them,
Such that our bricks are made
We each and all owe trees for life
-The debt cannot be paid

Trees work humble magic
-Joining both Earth and Air-
Toiling in the burning sun, so
You and I can be here.
