Show Me All- Bob's Permutations Poem by Lonnie Hicks

Show Me All- Bob's Permutations

Rating: 2.7

If I could consume you, I would
that is the hunger that lives.

If you could offer consumption too
it all would meld-
desire mounting the sky-
the heavens opening to need;
meaning seating itself among the relentless stars;
but I hesitate
when confronted with the unknowing,
singed with burned past experience
from which I made the secret vow not to risk to much openness
since hurt still lives in fear-draped cobweb corners of my psychic
where all I gained was abandonments
and emptied out vows which never came to be.

Yet I I know you too need to risk that vast abyss.
I know you feel the need as well
to turn inside out
spinning from it perhaps
some synergistic bliss
some halting
togetherness.

It is enough to know that
alone we are insularities, not complete
Incomplete Longings march our interior roads-
Exhausted Fear's Poor Cure and substitute
for real merging
seen or felt.

Draw near then breathing
fire;
feel me
pressing close;
all I offer
is hesitant need
and you to be
Need's Companion Seed
and that which release

will know no boundaries.

Show me all;
only you can complete me
and I you;
in the risk that is a second chance.
