There is significance in
The shadow of things
What are these
If they are not
At a glance passing
And all days are paused
Pawed by pens and pictures

Applaud the sentiment
Of trying to capture

But traps are shadows
And praise the glory
Of well intended gallows
Of all objects theories
And interpreting the beating
Of humingbird wings

There is a light that
Casts no shadows
And no one to glean
Significance in
The shadow of things
