Silence Poem by bethany jeffreys

Silence

I catch a glimpse of you in the corner of my eye,
My stomach weakens, I could die.
Your presence overwhelms my soul,
Your flawlessness plays an exemplary role.
As we lock eyes in the silent night,
You steal my heart in the nick of time.
Why are you here, you know that you have me,
I want to run but I’m trapped in ecstasy.
My heart skips a beat.
He smiles acknowledging my defeat.
Embracing him I give in,
It feels like heaven wrapped in sin.
The silence listens to our harmonious hearts,
It is in cognition that not even death will do us part.
